A Little Ink & Watercolour Sketch

This little piece is only 5"x 7" and it was drawn and painted in 20 minutes. This kind of work is fast and loose and almost always turns out looking free and easy. I like to work on location this way because you can draw for years of experence because you don't have time to think. A vignette of lucsious black line and luminous watercolours applied to enliven the scene. Using rich colour so that one aplication is sufficient.

Memories on Landsdowne

This is my recent commission of a homestead. When this farm was active it housed a growing family and lots of animals. The children played in the shed beside the house and in the hay in the upper barns. A model A Ford truck was tucked away in the tiny garage and horses pulled a plow. Now years later it sits silently with the huge trees engulfing the tired forgotten walls. Empty and awaiting demolition and a new subdivision. A paved paradise and rows of ticky tack.
